First 12 year old receives jab at regional hospital

The hospital management is optimistic that younger people will come in numbers to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Nurses at the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital vaccination station (Indaba Room) were very excited to see Kay Leigh Groenewald from Shelly Beach as the first 12-year-old client who received her Covid-19 vaccine recently.

“Kay seemed calm and ready to get the Covid-19 vaccine and didn’t worry much about the needle. On the other hand, nurses were equally cheerful to have their first youngest eligible client and they treated her with kindness and care,” said hospital PRO, Phumza Morai.

The hospital management is optimistic that younger people will come in numbers to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

“It is hoped that parents and child guardians will provide the necessary support and bring the children to the vaccination sites, in doing so we will be protecting our children and putting their lives first,” added Ms Morai.
