Police seize dagga, meds after tip-off

The task team together with a private security company proceeded to the location and found the vehicle.

The Umkomaas SAPS task team arrested a 25-year-old suspect for contravening the Medicines Control Act, and for possession of counterfeit goods last Tuesday.

On the day of the arrest, officers received information about a stolen vehicle parked in Roseneath, Umkomaas.

Medication and counterfeit goods were seized by police in Umkomaas.

The task team together with a private security company proceeded to the location and found the vehicle.

On searching the vehicle, they discovered 246 Xanax tablets, 18 bottles of codeine cough syrup, Stilpane syrup, 11 packets of Pacific Blue cigarettes and 2kg of dagga.

The suspect has appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court and the medicine and counterfeit goods were seized by police.
