Holidaymaker drowns while swimming off Oslo Beach

This is the third drowning in two weeks on the KZN South Coast.

Rescue services responded earlier today to a drowning off Oslo Beach. Rudi Prinsloo of Medevac said they attended along with Netcare 911 and Saps Search and Rescue.

“A 48-year-old man was swimming when the tragedy struck. Medevac with Saps Search and Rescue launched their boat called God’s Grace and managed to retrieve the body,” he said.

Mr Prinsloo confirmed the man was swimming at a beach with no lifeguards, and warned bathers to be extra careful when swimming.
