Manhunt for Sea Park rapist

Residents are warned to not threaten or engage with the man, should they come across him, but to contact Saps or a security company.

Residents of Sea Park have been called to be extra vigilant after a woman was raped earlier today (Thursday).

Anyone with camera systems, especially those living near the railway line, are asked to check if they have any footage that may help police in the search for the suspect.

The Southport Sector Crime WhatsApp group reported that, for the second time in seven days, the area had had an armed robbery and rape, or attempted rape, take place

Both crimes took place in the afternoon, and in the same area, in Sea Park.

The group has asked residents not to ignore any individuals hanging around their home and to call Saps at 10111 or 039 681 9900 or call your security company.

It is believed that the suspect meets the following description:

  • Tall and aged between 25 and 30
  • Shaven head
  • Droopy eyes and thick lips
  • Navy blue knee length pants
  • No shoes
  • Wearing a dark red t-shirt

An official police statement will be obtained as soon as possible.
