Conspiracy to kidnap case draws to a close

State Prosecutor Byron Peek finished his closing arguments yesterday (Wednesday).

The kidnapping case involving tow truck company owner Rowan Adamson (35) of Margate is drawing to a close in the Izingolweni Magistrate’s Court.

On Tuesday this week, Adamson’s defence attorney Kingsley du Plessis called a witness to testify.

State Prosecutor Byron Peek finished his closing arguments yesterday (Wednesday).

Du Plessis is expected to present his closing arguments today (Thursday).

Adamson is facing two charges of conspiracy to kidnap. He was arrested in May 2019 and released on R5 000 bail.

Alistair Grobbelaar, André Breedt and Lindani Raymond Mnguni, pleaded guilty in May 2019 to kidnapping beekeeper Yzelle Greyling, who spent some 10 hours bound and gagged in the boot of a car after being abducted at gunpoint in Umzumbe.
