Ugu searches for new municipal manager

Naidoo resigned in April after being placed on suspension following the release of a Section 106 investigation report by Cogta.

Ugu District Municipality is looking for a new Municipal Manager (MM).

Ugu has not had a MM for almost a year after DD Naidoo was suspended, and subsequently resigned in 2021.

Naidoo resigned in April after being placed on suspension following the release of a Section 106 investigation report by Cogta.

An amicable settlement equivalent to six months’ salary was concluded between the municipality and Naidoo, to part ways from the employment contract.

Since then the municipality has had two acting MMs.

The first was Sibusiso Sithole, then Dr Elliot Michael Sbusiso Ntombela who is in the post at present.

Last week Ugu advertised a vacancy for this position.

With everything going on at the municipality and the new mayor promising change, there is hope that when this position is occupied, the municipality will function better.
