Vocalist Nozibusiso Vezi brings special collaboration to Margate

iSupport Creative Business, in collaboration with Umnqgunqgo Wabantu and supported by Concerts SA presents vocalist Nozibusiso Vezi in concert.

The concert will take place at Margate Art Museum next Saturday (February 5) where doors will open at 14:00. The show begins at 15:00.

Nozibusiso Vezi was born in 1991 and is originally from Umkhunya, south of Durban. Since 1998, she is based in Hazelwood, Umzinto.

Nozibusiso Vezi will perform in Margate next Saturday.

She graduated from the University of KwaZulu Natal (Howard College), where she obtained the qualification of BA in Music and graduated in 2017.

She majored in jazz voice. Whenever Nozibusiso is asked about her history in singing, she replies that she has been singing from as young as she can remember.

As part of this project, Vezi will bring a special collaboration with a band consisting of music students from Esayidi FET College, led by legendary pianist Andile Yenana.

The group will feature Nhlakanipho Zulu on piano, Kwena Ramahuta on guitar, Ntlakanipho Xolo on bass guitar and Sibusiso Ncube on drums.

“The audience can expect to hear rich African sounds, something that will say to you, ‘South Africa.’ Also, be ready to move along to the music,” says Vezi.

This concert is made possible by The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) Foundation/Concerts SA.

The event will also feature talent from Esayidi FET College students.

Concerts SA is a joint South African/Norwegian live music development project housed under the auspices of SAMRO and managed by IKS Cultural Consulting.

Concerts SA receives financial, administrative and technical support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, SAMRO and the SAMRO Foundation.

Working with musicians, promoters, venue owners and audiences, and providing support to the sector through research and skills development for music professionals, the project aims to build a vibrant and viable live music circuit in southern Africa.

It also aims to develop an interest in and appreciation of live music by showcasing music performances and conducting workshops at schools.
