Meerkats help raise funds through baking

One of the tasks required the Meerkats to decorate and sell cupcakes, with the proceeds to then be donated.

Well done to the 1st Margate Meerkats who took part in the National Scouts Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Challenge recently.

The SDG was created by the United Nations to create a better world by ending poverty, fighting inequality and tackling climate change around the world.

More than 57 million Scouts took part worldwide in 2021, totalling more than two billion hours, which the 1st Margate Meerkats were part of.

One of the tasks required the Meerkats to decorate and sell cupcakes, with the proceeds to then be donated.

The Meerkats extend its thanks to Cookhouse who assisted by donating cupcake mix, which made the event possible.

Money that was raised will be donated to Harmony Hills.

Scout times are as follows:
Meerkats (five to seven years old) on Saturdays at 15:00 to 16:30.
Cubs (seven to 11 years old ) on Saturdays at 15:00 to 17:00.
Scouts (11 to 18 years old) on Thursdays at 17:30 to 20:00.
