Rebecca excels on international crossfit stage

Rebecca competed in two workouts on the first day of competition, one work out on day two, and two more on the last day.

Margate’s very own star crossfit athlete Rebecca Nagel returns to the South Coast on February 5, after an impressive performance at the Wodapalooza (WZA) in Miami, Florida in the USA.

At the event in mid-January, and over three days of competition in her first in-person crossfit contest on an international stage against the best adaptive crossfit athletes in the world, Rebecca finished third overall in the Adaptive Seat RX women’s division.

Having been founded in 2012, this three-day competition gives athletes from around the world the opportunity to compete on the big stage. In order to compete on the floor in Miami, athletes must qualify through a test of fitness, through the WZA Online Challenge and Qualifier (WZAOC).

“It was a whirlwind of surreal moments and emotions for me. I was fortunate enough to meet some truly amazing people and compete against a group of incredibly fit athletes,” Rebecca said.

Rebecca competed in two workouts on the first day of competition, one work out on day two, and two more on the last day.

Day three was a special one for Rebecca, as she won her event, her first event win after winning in the WZA OC Remix.

“I won the final event on the last day which was really cool,” she said.

Speaking about her experience, she said the opportunity was one that she truly relished all while rubbing shoulders with some of the world’s elite crossfit athletes, the likes of Bethany Shadburn, Matt Frasier and Pat Vulner.

“It was really great being able to meet new people, more especially the many elite crossfit games athletes I got to meet and rub shoulders with, which was a great experience. I’m also very excited to work through some weaknesses we spotted and come back even stronger,” Rebecca said.
