Umkomaas Saps Social Crime Prevention Unit, in partnership with the Umkomaas Youth Desk and the Well of Hope Foundation, hosted a vibrant Sport Against Crime Day at the Magabheni Sports Ground on August 21.

The initiative, hosted by Joe Mkhize, commenced at 10:00 and brought together local high schools from across the Umkomaas policing area.

The event used the power of sport to unite youth and raise critical awareness against crime, substance abuse, and other social ills plaguing communities.

In a powerful display of interdepartmental solidarity, the Umkomaas Saps soccer team faced off against Metro Police in a friendly match.

Umkomaas Saps extends gratitude to the community members, schools, and various stakeholders whose contributions ensured the day’s success.

Saps also mentioned that such collaborations help steer young people to a brighter, crime-free future.
