Just in: Man killed, woman injured in carpark shooting in Margate

It appears that shots were fired through the windscreen and door of the vehicle.

A man in his 30’s was shot dead near a hardware store in Margate earlier today.

Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service said that when emergency services arrived they found that two occupants of a vehicle had been shot.

Shaun Herbst of Netcare 911 said the driver of the vehicle was declared dead by paramedics.

“Reports indicate that an unknown number of gunmen opened fire on a man and woman sitting in a car in the parking lot,” he said.

Herbst said medics assessed the scene and found that the driver had sustained fatal injuries after being shot multiple times, and was declared deceased.
