11 adults, one child injured in separate crashes on Valentine’s Day on South Coast
Paramedics had to treat injuries which ranged from minor to serious.
Both the start and the end to yesterday’s Valentine’s Day (February 14) ended on a bad note.
The morning started with Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responding to a collision on the N2 between Bhoboyi and Merlewood.
Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service said that when emergency services arrived they found that two vehicles had been involved in a rear-end collision.
Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that a child and two adults had sustained minor injuries.
The patients were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
Later that same morning, paramedics responded to the N2 at the Merlewood intersection for reports of another collision.
When emergency services arrived they found that two vehicles had been involved in a collision.
“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that an adult had sustained minor injuries,” said Botha.
The patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.

At 20:47 that evening, Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the N2 between Murchison and Paddock for reports of a collision.
When emergency services arrived they found that a truck had lost control and overturned, down an embankment.
Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one person sustained serious injuries.
The patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
A few minutes later, paramedics responded to the N2 at Bhoboyi for reports of a collision.
When emergency services arrived they found that a bakkie carrying 11 passengers had overturned.
“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that three patients had sustained serious injuries, four patients had sustained minor injuries,” said Botha.
The patients was treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
