Two injured as pedestrian bridge collapses

Earlier this afternoon (16th) Netcare 911 responded to a structural collapse in the Mvutshini area inland of Margate at around 13:29.

Reports indicated that two adult males were injured when a steel and concrete pedestrian bridge collapsed.

“Medics treated both patients who had sustained fractures to their lower limbs. Once treated, the patients were transported to hospital for further care,” said Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911 Media.
