Witnesses sought in Riverside Park shooting incident

Umzinto Saps is investigating a case of attempted murder after a man was shot during the water crisis protest in Riverside Park, Umzinto on January 31.

“It is alleged that two vehicles approached the entrance to Riverside Park at 11am, and fired shots in the direction of the people,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

“A 49-year-old man was shot and was taken to Umzinto Clinic, and then transferred to GJ Crookes Hospital.”
