Mill welcomes new general manager
In 2017, he was appointed as the general manager at the Stanger Mill and in 2020 he moved to Tugela Mill.
Christo Willemse, a qualified professional engineer has been appointed as the new general manager at the Sappi Saiccor mill in Umkomaas.
Willemse has been with Sappi for over 19 years and started his career at the Ngodwana Mill in Mpumalanga back in 2002 as a project engineer, and progressed through various senior positions.
In 2017, he was appointed as the general manager at the Stanger Mill and in 2020 he moved to Tugela Mill.
Willemse replaces Dr Bev Sukhdeo at Saiccor who has been appointed as Vice President Manufacturing, Research and Development and Engineering for Sappi Southern Africa.
She is the first woman to hold this position at Sappi and will be based at the company’s head office in Rosebank.
