Scouts pick up litter on Margate beach

One of the tasks required them to do a beach clean-up which they did along Margate beach towards the fishing pier.

The 1st Margate Scouts took part in the Tide Turners Plastic Challenge.

This is a Clean Seas initiative that teaches young people around the world about plastic pollution and the effects on the environment.

The tasks gives them the tools and knowledge to be able to change their behaviour and to be an inspiration to those around them while promoting clean living for a healthy planet.

One of the tasks required them to do a beach clean-up which they did along Margate beach towards the fishing pier.

The six Scouts that participated in the challenge thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and were very grateful to the community that jumped right in to help once they saw what they were doing.

They managed to collect over 20 bags of litter from the area.
