Hospice donates wheelchairs to revamp for needy

Peter Fielding has been restoring and donating old wheelchairs to the less fortunate for many years.

Khanya Hospice in Umkomaas decided to give back to the community by donating three wheelchairs to Scottburgh’s Peter Fielding, also known as ‘Mr Wheelchair’ to revamp and give to the needy.

Fielding has been restoring and donating old wheelchairs to the less fortunate for many years.

Hospice’s CEO Neil McDonald mentioned that the NPO often receives broken and ‘lifeless’ wheelchairs, but does not have anyone to restore them, which is why they are grateful to have Fielding on board.

“We believe that the more you give, the more you shall receive and we do it all in the name of recycling and charity,” said McDonald.
