Sea Park Serial Rapist: Suspect faces 15 charges so far [UPDATE]

Friends and family of the victims showed their support at the Port Shepstone Magistrate's Court.

A man (35) appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court earlier today.

He was arrested by detectives from Southport police station in the Umgababa area on Tuesday this week.

His arrest has been welcomed by residents of Sea Park and Southport who have lived in fear, uncertain as to when he would strike next.

He faces 15 charges (and it’s believed more may be added to the charge sheet) ranging from attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and rape.

Most of these offences are listed as Schedule Six, as they are the most serious violent crimes.

Magistrate Bryan Munilall postponed the case for bail application to Friday, March 4.

The man will remain in custody.
