ANC to hold regional conference soon

This should happen after all the ANC branches or a minimum of 70% of branches have held their respective Branch General Meetings (BGM).

The Lower South Coast African National Congress conference is expected to take place soon.

This should happen after all the ANC branches or a minimum of 70% of branches have held their respective Branch General Meetings (BGM).

Lindo Mzimela spokesperson for the ANC in the region said they want to meet the maximum percentage of BGMs because they want to participate fully in the conference.

“You must remember that the last time our region had an election was in 2014 then in 2018 a new task team was appointed, it was not an election.”

Mzimela said the date is not yet confirmed due to many internal issues.

“The ANC has many internal issues that need to be sorted first before we hold a regional conference. So at the moment we do not have a confirmed date.”

He also said they need the green light from national, so as soon as everything is in order they will then announce the date.

Coordinator of the region, Xolani Luthuli said the preparations are going well even though they are delayed by three weeks.

“The conference will sit in March because we got a bit delayed, we still have time but we as the region wanted the conference to be this weekend. But because of some issues we will then hold it later.”
