Cultural Experience Day 2: ‘Unbelievable response from locals’

Contrary to the intimate set up day one, the second day saw local and national musical acts

The euphoria of the KZN Cultural and Heritage Experience continued on day two, seeing South Coast residents come out in their numbers to the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre in Gamalakhe yesterday (5th).

Day two saw local and national musical acts from all genres take to the stage to entertain on a day of fun and music.

“The people have been in high spirits from as early as mid morning, and we are really happy at the unbelievable turnout we have on this second day,” said KZN Arts and Culture MEC Hlengiwe Mavimbela.

The day began with performances from gospel artists before local rap sensation Ficz took to the stage to open the doors for the local acts.

Local hip hop favorite Ficz kept the crowd entertained at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre yesterday during the second day of the KZN Cultural and Heritage Experience

This was followed by a performance from local and national maskande artists before crowd favourites Holly Ray, Sparks Bantwana and Tina Zungu entertained the crowd through the night.

“To have the level of attendance we’ve had today for a first time event is absolutely breath-taking and we are loving the response from the South Coast locals, and how they have carried themselves today,” said
Mavimbela.
