Cultural Experience Day 3: A fitting end [VIDEO]

The weekend was intended to inspire and enrich the lives of every artist within KZN and after two days of music, art and celebration of holistic KZN culture

The three day KZN Cultural and Heritage Experience hosted by the KZN Department of Arts and Culture concluded at St. Michael’s beachfront yesterday (6th) afternoon.

The weekend was intended to inspire and enrich the lives of every artist within KZN and after two days of music, art and celebration of holistic KZN culture, the atmosphere was one of laughter on the day, with a grandstand stage that saw comedians’ live acts take to the stage and entertain the crowd in attendance.

Amongst those in attendance were Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayor, Zero Mqadi, who said how proud he was of the South Coast locals and expressed interest in hosting the event again in future.

The locals were out in their numbers enjoying the last day of the three day KZN Cultural and Arts Festival

“We are here as many people of the South Coast, as people from different races and different cultures. We are happy with what this has done for our youth,” he said.

“We want our youth to be as involved as possible. It is important for them to be educated, to learn about their culture, and to be involved with art,” he added.

Although there was an absence of craft and food stalls on display, the locals were treated to live stand-up comedy from the likes of Felix Hlophe, and musical performances from the popular Qwabe twins.
