Super effort from skills squad

Team Supra Squad has brought honour and acclaim to Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach, by winning the group’s annual, national Toyota Skills final.
This is a competition in which all the dealerships around the country compete.
The grand finale was held at Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg recently.
The Supra Squad comprised team leader Stephen Jones, Sanjay Dayanand, Theunis Barnard, Dhevan Moodley and Wesley Clarke.
Brian Jones was the team mentor.
It used to be an individual competition, but has been changed to a teams, which sees more people involved.
The competition required teams to progress through two stages to reach the final.
There was a quiz and live presentation along the way, as well as the dealerships being visited by a mystery shopper and receiving questions from a ‘random’ caller.
All of this played a part in seeing them progress, with questions revolving around parts, the workshop, new and used vehicles, technology, the history of Toyota and product knowledge.
There was also some focus on Toyota’s Right to Repair strategy, so this was certainly an intense competition with the Shelly Beach team proving worthy winners.
For their efforts, they each walked away with a TV set worth around R20 000.
