Bike week set to boost tourism
Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts and visitors from different regions and neighbouring countries are expected to descend on the KZN South Coast.
Judging by the number of visitors already enjoying sunny days on the South Coast beaches – the holidays are here!
On this exciting note, the coast looks forward to African Bike Week from St Mike’s to Margate from April 28 to 30.
Vicky Wentzel of Wozani Africa Events said African Bike Week has made great strides in cementing its position as the biggest bike festival in Africa, as thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts and visitors from different regions and neighbouring countries descend on the KZN South Coast.
“The biking councils are 100% behind this event as event partners raise funds on various social media platforms, which we love,” she said.
Wentzel said the event is powered by Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and hosted by the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs.
The festival aims to stimulate growth for the local economy and tourism, incorporating previously disadvantaged communities, promoting social cohesion and nation building, as well as building bridges into Africa, to entrench the KZN South Coast as the home of biking in Africa.
“This event is ready to create exactly what is needed to stimulate, create and provide the necessary financial growth over one long weekend to reset the economic stimulation for the South Coast,” she said.
The Africa Unite Stage will be set-up at St Mike’s beach and will host headline artists from around Africa, as well as motorcycle presidents from other African countries.
