Opinion: Councillor’s open letter to Ugu mayor
Requests for water tankers and for the static tanks to be filled in Ramsgate South seem to be ignored.

The daily water report from Ugu stated that the Ramsgate South valves would be opened on March 19. While we monitored the situation the entire day, no water was forthcoming for residents.
However, on March 20 the Ugu report said the level in the reservoir is low and that the reason will be investigated.
Clearly this reservoir is not being monitored if it takes a day to establish that the level is low!
We are now on Day 12 without water in Ramsgate South and yet all requests for water tankers and for the static tanks to be filled seem to be ignored. The school holiday visitors are already here and once again Ugu is unable to deliver the service with which they are tasked.
This situation is totally unacceptable and the Ugu Municipality for which you are responsible is guilty of contravention of human rights of the residents.
Madam Mayor, you need to act immediately to rectify this total lack of service delivery to the residents. You need to address the people, the residents of Ramsgate South on what you are doing to resolve the water crisis.
