Heroin capsules, a pistol and live ammunition were confiscated by police at the Margate taxi rank recently.
Margate Saps Drug and Rapid task teams received information that people were dealing in drugs at the rank.
Three men, aged between 27 and 34, were arrested and charged for possession and dealing in drugs and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Sibu Ncane said the men appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday.
The case was postponed to this week, for further investigation.
Margate Acting Station Commander Colonel Ntombizanele Mzotho congratulated the members for the arrest and encouraged the community to ensure that they report criminal activities happening in their respective areas.
