Nikayla Naicker, a 14 year old volunteer with Ignite Revolution, has received Olympus International Award recognition for the role she has played in uplifting her local community.
The Port Shepstone teenager received this global youth award for helping make a difference in the lives of others on a daily basis.
She is involved in various youth led community projects, from revamping school libraries and playgrounds to packing and distributing meals, especially during lockdown, among so much more.

The Grade 10 pupil at Port Shepstone Secondary is already dedicated to making a positive impact and, despite her tender age, is developing into a fearless, passionate human rights activist.
There were 847 nominations received for this year’s Olympus International Awards, launched by the internationally recognised Dr Shamila Ramjawan.
Women and youth who received awards were trailblazers and role models from six continents.
It was a huge honour for Nikayla to be recognised on a platform of this calibre, initiated by a phenomenal trailblazer like Dr Ramjawan.
