WATCH: Two injured as car plunges into South Coast river

The overnight rain has caused many rivers on the coast to swell.

Two people were taken to hospital after a two-car collision on a low-lying bridge on the P200 (Izotsha) earlier today.

Rudi Prinsloo of Medevac said that he was on his way to work when came across the accident.

“Paramedics from Netcare 911 were already on the scene, and, together, we assisted those involved, with help from officers from Maser Security,” he said.

Members of the Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue Department were also on the scene.

“Both people inside the vehicle that went into the river were taken to hospital,” he said.
