RNM tables draft budget

Over R1.5-bn was proposed for operating income and R161-m for the capital budget.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality mayor Cllr Sikhumbuzo Mqadi presented the 2022/2023 draft budget at a council meeting on Tuesday this week.

Over R1.5-bn was proposed for operating income and R161-m for the capital budget.

Property rates and service charges have been adjusted to 4.8% and electricity tariffs increased to 9.6%.

The mayor said RNM has allocated a substantial amount of money in the capital expenditure to buy graders, tipper trucks and compactors.

“This is going to help us and make it easy to deliver services to our community.”

They have also set aside an amount to fix roads in the rural areas, potholes and storm water drainage systems.

The draft budget will be made public soon with detailed information and figures.
