WET WEATHER WARNING: Motorists warned about wet conditions and road closures… so far

The heavy downpour over the weekend has caused some damage in and around the coast.

Due to poor weather conditions and heavy rain, South Coast residents are urged to travel on the roads only if it absolutely necessary.
A dangerous washaway has resulted in a section of Marine Drive in Margate being closed off.
 
 
This comes from Tweni Community Police Forum’s chairman, Selvan Chetty who said reports of localised flooding and road damages are being received.
 
So far, motorists are warned about a road closure on Marine Drive in Margate, north of the Margate Saps, leading down to the garage in Bank Street.

Motorists are advised to use the Marine Drive road through town as an alternative.
