WET WEATHER UPDATE: Sinkhole on N2 forces road closure between Umkomaas and Scottburgh

Traffic heading south from Umkomaas is being redirected by RTI Park Rynie onto the R102, Old Main Road.

Police in contact with the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) have confirmed that a sinkhole on the N2 southbound before Amahlongwa river bridge is expanding.

This has resulted in the N2 freeway southbound closure between Umkomaas andScottburgh.

Traffic heading south from Umkomaas is being redirected by RTI Park Rynie onto the R102, Old Main Road.

Motorists are also reminded that a section of the R102, Old Main Road in Scottburgh is closed between the Bram Fisher entrance and Scottburgh Mall.

Alternate routes through the CBD and residential areas should be used.

The N2 freeway can then be accessed again in Park Rynie.
