VIDEO: Search on for two teens swept out to sea off Palm Beach

More tragedy has struck the South Coast, just before the Easter long weekend.

Two teenagers were allegedly swept out to sea while swimming at Palm Beach, near Trafalgar yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

Rescue teams, including K9 Search and Rescue, NSRI Port Edward and Medevac searched extensively yesterday (Thursday) afternoon but sadly couldn’t find the teens, who may have been caught in a strong rip current.

It is believed the two boys were with a group from a charity organisation which takes care of local KZN South Coast children who have nowhere else to go.

The BK117 from East London ‘squadron 15 Charlie flight’ was used to search the coastline.

The search will continue today (Friday).
