REMINDER: N2 between Ilfracombe and Umgababa remains closed

Alternate routes through nearby rural areas and coastal towns are being used for now.

Motorists are reminded that the N2 northbound between Ilfracombe and Umgababa is still in a bad state after sections of the road broke and collapsed last week and remains closed.

Alternate routes through nearby rural areas are being used, this from motorists who have been on the road today.

Traffic has been diverting at Magabheni offramp back onto the N2 via Mfume or alternatively on the R102 at Ilfracombe Railway Station.

Those travelling south are to make use of the detour through Umkomaas onto the R102, Old Main Road into Scottburgh.

Once in Scottburgh, a different route needs to be taken as the R102 has collapsed near GJ Crookes Hospital. This section of road is blocked until Scottburgh Mall.

Due to this, traffic is diverted into the CBD and residential areas.

The R102 can be accessed again in Park Rynie.
