Motorists warned of sinkhole on R620 in Margate

Drivers are warned to be careful on this section of road. 

In the last 48 hours, two motorists, in two separate incidents, have had close shaves with the large sinkhole on the R620 in Margate.

One of the drivers, aged 86, was injured in the accident, and taken to hospital by Netcare 911.

The sinkhole developed during the floods and the road has since been closed.

The sinkhole, which is cordoned off, is on the national road near Margate police station, and motorists are warned to be careful on this section of road.
