TRAGIC: Boy (7) killed in minibus crash on way to school in Margate

A total of 19 people were treated on the scene,

A seven year-old boy, in grade 2, was killed in a crash involving a minibus on the corner of Rooseveld and Piet Retief intersection in Margate earlier this morning.

A minibus, carrying school children, and a sedan were involved in the accident.

Robert Mckenzie from KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services said paramedics and emergency services treated a total of 19 patients on the scene.

Glen Preston from Medevac, who was also on the scene, said that 15 people were treated for minor injuries, and four for moderate.

Mckenzie said the exact cause of the crash will be investigated.
