Support Child Welfare’s fitness fun drive

The event will be held on Freedom Day (Wednesday).

Child Welfare SA, Port Shepstone has come up with a great initiative to raise funds and get people to stay fit.

The Charity Kickback Challenge in aid of Child Welfare SA, Port Shepstone is set to take place behind the Engen garage, Southcoast Mall on Wednesday, April 27. Though a fundraising initiative at the crux of it, the welfare hopes participants will kick back their heels with fitness instructor, Sean Pillay. The organisation hopes to attract 50 participants at a entry fee of R75.

The entry fee will provisionally include a water bottle, Charity Kickback Challenge medal and refreshments. The marathon itself will be conducted at a beginner level to accommodate novices and last for six hours with a 30 minute break after the first three hours.

During the break everyone in attendance will be treated to a Capoeira demonstration performed by the masterful athletes of the Capoeira Academy.

There will be 10 minute active rest session on the hour or two five minute active rest sessions every 30 minutes (at the discretion of the instructor) to ensure that a moderate and sustainable pace is kept. There are also two prizes are on offer.
