Community in search of ‘Thugin’ to keep town tidy

Stephen Herbst of Tidy Town Shelly Beach to Margate said this type of behaviour is not what the South Coast needs right now.

A reward of R5000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the individual who spray-painted graffiti on a new Tidy Town welcome board in St Mike’s.

It appears that the same graffiti artist has also tagged other signboards and dustbins in and around Uvongo.

Stephen Herbst of Tidy Town Shelly Beach to Margate said this type of behaviour is not what the South Coast needs right now.

“You are not an enemy of Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate, you are a FAN!” said Herbst on Facebook.

A local, Rudie Botes could not stand the sight of the defaced board and took it upon himself to clean it up and the end result is that it’s sparkling clean again.

“Don’t mess with our Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate family, we worked hard and won’t give up,” said Herbst.

If anyone knows anything about this, contact Herbst on 082 4531133.
