Hit-and-run in Margate leaves teen injured

He was on his way to school when he was struck by the vehicle.

A 17 year-old boy was hit by a car while on his way to school in Wingate Avenue in Margate at about 07:05 this morning.

Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare 911 said paramedics treated the boy for injuries to his head and shoulder.

He was transported to Gamalakhe Clinic.

Comment from the police is awaited.
