As a continuation of “what I want to be when I grow up” theme, Creston College Group 5 learners spent time learning about engineers, architects, builders, and all things construction-related last week.
The educators were reminded of Yawar Baig’s quote that, “Teaching is not about answering questions but about raising questions – opening doors for them in places that they could not imagine.”
Much fun was had when posed with the question, “What would your city look like” and, as a whole group, they spent time designing and planning their very own Creston city.
They practised their science and engineering skills by investigating how the bears could cross the river safely, building a bridge out of 20 Duplo blocks and they had great fun thinking about what their theme parks would look like, by creating tummy-turning, scream inducing roller coasters.
Watch out world, here comes Group 5!
