A woman died in a mudslide during the flash flood last Sunday.
She has been identified as Thuli Cele, aged 63, of Nyandezulu, in Ray Nkonyeni Municipality’s Ward 24.
This is about 9km inland of Shelly Beach.
Cele had been at neighbour’s house when the mudslide occurred, claiming her life.
Thami Ntuli, the premier of KZN, visited the family at their home.
He was joined by Skhumbuzo Mqadi (Ugu mayor), Zodwa Mzindle (RNM mayor) and Phumlani Gumbi (RNM speaker).
