The women killed in the murder-suicide in Margate on January 1 has been identified as Sarbhera Amod (38) of Witbank.
A dedicated activist against GBV, she was the the DA’s Provincial Director in Mpumalanga.
The DA in Mpumalanga posted that Amod would be remembered for her courageous spirit and brilliant operational mind.
The Witbank News reported that Sarbhera’s mother, Thelma, heard the shot that killed her daughter, and that Sarbhera died in her mother’s arms.
The tragedy reportedly began with an argument over a skirt, with Thelma saying she heard Sarbhera’s partner complaining about a skirt she was wearing.
Then she heard the gun shot.
