Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a woman (38) who was gunned down at a holiday rental unit in Margate yesterday (January 1, 2026).
A police spokesman said it is believed that during an argument, the woman’s partner shot her in the head and then turned the gun on himself.
A 9mm Beretta pistol was found on the scene by police.
It is further believed that the couple was on holiday from Witbank in Mpumalanga.
“A case of murder is being investigated and a second count of inquest as well,” said Saps.
