Make your trip memorable in a Hyundai Santa FE
This 7-seater has plenty of room for everything your busy life can throw at it, not forgetting its comfortable and fun to drive.
A vehicle not often seen on the South Coast usually receives a lot of attention. My latest test drive was the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid, a 7-seater SUV, which certainly got noticed.
The Santa Fe has set a new benchmark in performance, comfort and style. Yes, it’s a bit long, but it blends tech, space, and the best of both worlds – electric and petrol power. It certainly delivered good performance and wasn’t heavy on the fuel tank at all.
The all-wheel drive system powers a combined output of 175kW and 367Nm of torque powered with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The claimed fuel consumption is 7.5L/100km.
There’s ample safety features such as driver attention warning, blind spot, view monitor forward and rear collision, smart key with push start, auto defog system and a 360-degree camera.
On the infotainment side, it is equipped with a 12.3” digital cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. I enjoyed the BOSE sound system playing via Bluetooth.
There’s wireless phone charging, adaptive cruise control, rear seat occupant alert, ambient mood lighting, dual electric sunroof with one-touch operation, and more. It’s all within the driver’s reach, as well as storage space for water bottles and cold drinks.
Also, it features paddle shifters which handles manual gear shifting found in full electric vehicles. This feature allows drivers to adjust how aggressively the vehicle slows down, thus recharging the battery.
The Santa Fe provided a smooth and quiet ride and moves seamlessly between electric and petrol power, making for a calm driving experience, especially on our roads, even with roadworks on the go.
It’s the perfect vehicle for large families to venture out and make those trips memorable ones.
