One arrest, copper cables recovered in Tweni
The man appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court..
A security company arrested a man with suspected stolen copper cables in Umtentweni last Friday.
While Lazer 911 Security’s tactical unit was conducting crime prevention patrols along Valley Road, they spotted a man with suspected stolen property.
When the suspect saw the security officers he dropped the bag and fled the scene. The man was arrested and on searching the bag the officers found tools used for house breaking and rolled up copper cables.
Police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge said a case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened, after a 36-year-old man was apprehended by members of a security company with copper cables at about 03:00.
The man appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed for further investigation.
