
An urgent appeal is made by police to the public, to be more conscious about safety and security.
At home, do not leave bicycles, garden tools or anything of value in the yard. Garage doors and driveway gates must be locked or closed at all times.
Drive with the vehicle windows closed and do not leave belongings on the seat.
When in public places, refrain from walking alone and displaying cellphones and valuables.
Do not accept help from strangers at shopping malls and entrances of retail stores who tell you that they will look after your belongings.
Do not accept lifts from strangers even if women are occupants in the vehicle.
Do not buy items that you have never viewed. When shopping online, ensure that you dealing with reputable people.
Be vigilant when withdrawing cash at an ATM, never allow anyone to distract you and never accept assistance.
