Police are investigating a murder after a 72-year-old woman died after being stabbed multiple times.
The incident occurred at Madikane area, Murchison near a tuckshop last Thursday evening.
Police spokesperson, Captain Petros Mpinge said the woman was transported to hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her serious injuries while receiving treatment.
“A 39-year-old man was arrested in the area on the same day and appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court last Friday. The accused remains in custody and the case has been postponed for seven days for a bail application. A case of murder is being investigated.”
