Man shot and killed at Umkomaas residence

An official police report is awaited.

This morning (November 3) at 08:35, a man died after being shot multiple times while at his residence in Umkomaas.

Emergency services and police responded to the shooting and found the man lying face down in a pool of blood in the garden.

According to reports, there were gunmen in a vehicle outside the house, and after the man stepped out of his house to investigate, he was shot at.

“The man, whose body was riddled with gunshot wounds was assessed, however showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased on the scene,” said Shawn Herbst, Netcare 911 media liaison.

At this stage, circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown and official comment is awaited from Saps.
