Police presence results in a safe festive season

The Ugu District Commissioner is pleased with local Saps.

The Ugu District Commissioner, Major General Sethenya Nxamagele, wishes to acknowledge the hard work and extended hours put in by her members which resulted in a successful and more peaceful festive season.

In addition, she extends appreciation to all local law enforcement agencies who worked closely with Saps in maintaining and enforcing the law during this busy time.

Major General Nxamagele was also impressed with the eagerness and positive attitude of the new constables who arrived at the end of last year, and encourages all her members to maintain this level of drive and ambition.

“The year has started off on a high note and Major General Nxamagele is calling on all role-players, religious organisations and communities especially the youth, to assist in the following months to continue on the road to creating a more stable and crime-free Ugu District where criminals fear the law and its penalties,” stated Port Shepstone Saps communications officer, Captain Petros Mpinge.

A number of recoveries, arrests, stop and search operations and patrols were conducted throughout the Ugu District to ensure that the festive season was a safe one.
