An inquest docket was opened after a woman (25) allegedly fell asleep on her three-month-old baby boy during the night.
The case is being investigated by Saps Gamalakhe after the child was found unresponsive on the morning of March 2.
Police spokesperson Captain Petros Mpinge said the docket will be forwarded to the Senior Public Prosecutor for a decision.
“It is further alleged that the mother is mentally unstable,” he said.
No-one has been arrested.
