They are purporting that they are investigating the case, and are asking for money to be deposited into banking accounts in order for the recovered properties to be handed back.
An urgent appeal is made by the Saps to complainants and victims who had opened criminal cases, to record the case number and the details of the investigating officer.

Scottburgh Saps informs the public that they should always liaise with the investigating officer or the branch commander of the unit and not to any other person.
