Gunmen kill taxi owner and driver in Margate Ext 3 attack
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and investigations are continuing.
A man believed to be a taxi owner and his driver were recently shot dead in Margate.
The incident occurred at a house in Margate Ext 3 at about 19:00.
KwaZulu-Natal provincial spokesperson, Captain Ntathu Ndlovu, said reports indicate that the victims were sitting on the veranda when two unknown men approached them and without warning started to shoot at them.
“The victims aged 33 and 41 were fatally shot, while a third person managed to escape unharmed. The motive for the killings is unknown at this stage and investigations are continuing.”
Margate police are investigating two cases of murder and an attempted murder. No arrests have yet been made as yet.
It is believed that the taxi owner was operating under the Gamalakhe Taxi Association.
